Elevenses – Wednesday 6th July
Front of House – Security Special
A vital part of the museum front-of-house role is supporting museum security. We’ll hear from a security specialist from Trident Manor to reflect on: the role of front-house staff or volunteers in security procedures, daily procedures for opening and closing, weekly and other regular routines, tips for observing visitors on site, quick wins for handling situations, and dealing with out of hours issues.
We’ll also hear from people in Estates and FoH at Thackray Museum of Medicine, on how they work together on museum security.
People in front-of-house roles will find this especially useful, and anyone with a role in supporting or supervising front-of-house teams will also find it valuable.
Insightful, interactive and informal, come along to gain new insights from our guests, meet colleagues from the region, and connect with the MDY team. Everyone who works and volunteers in museums in our region is most welcome, including museum freelancers who want to stay connected during this time.
