Rachelle Rowbottom, Tax Partner at BHP Chartered Accountants will present this Elevenses and tell you more about the:

  • Benefits to both charities and higher and additional rate taxpayers

  • Other activities where you can claim gift aid, e.g. trustee/volunteer expenses, fundraising events, etc.

Rachelle was appointed as a Tax Partner in BHP’s tax team of 56 enthusiastic advisors in 2019, having joined BHP in 1998 and trained within the audit and accounts department. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2003 and has experience of managing a portfolio of clients within BHP’s Audit and Assurance team. As a key member of the charity and not for profit team at BHP for over 20 years, Rachelle is now an experienced tax and advisory Partner who specialises in acting for the firm’s charity and not for profit clients, in particular relating to tax exemptions, the use of trading subsidiaries and gift aid. She is experienced in delivering training for charity finance staff and contributes to BHP’s Charity newsletter.

Rachelle is Treasurer of Yorkshire Artspace Society Limited, a member of the ICAEW’s Tax Faculty and also attends the Charity Tax Group’s Observer Member meetings.
