Elevenses – Thursday 13th October
Conservation Cleaning and Basic Conservation Practices
Join us with Helena Jaeschke, Conservation Development Officer at South West Museum Development, to explore the topic of basic conservation practices for your objects and conservation cleaning of museum spaces.
Helena will explore basic object conservation practices appropriate for a non-specialist to undertake. This will include techniques such as cleaning with a brush and vacuum, or making tissue puffs for supporting textiles.
This is a great chance to ask a specialist conservation officer any questions about your basic object conservation practices and housekeeping procedures.
We will return to a collections care topic with a look at emergency planning and salvage on Monday 14th November.
Insightful, interactive and informal, come along to gain new insights from our guests, meet colleagues from the region, and connect with the MDY team. Everyone who works and volunteers in museums in our region is most welcome, including museum freelancers who want to stay connected.
