Introduction to the Museum Accreditation Scheme UK
This short morning session is for non-accredited museums who are considering applying to Museum Accreditation to find what the scheme entails and whether it is suitable for your organisation.
It would also be suitable for museums currently recognised as Working Towards Accreditation as an opportunity for other staff and volunteers to find out more about the scheme.
Accreditation Mentor Workshop
Are you an Accreditation Mentor or a museum professional interested in becoming a mentor? This workshop will provide a thorough overview of what the role involves and how to get the most from your mentoring experience. The session will include how to conduct an effective annual review with your mentee museum, demystify the mentor’s report, discuss challenging situations and where to seek additional support, along with a great opportunity to network with other regional Accreditation Mentors.

Why museums should become Carbon Literate, where to start and what next
Aware of the climate emergency but not sure how your museum can contribute? Museum Development England has secured funding for Roots & Branches, a project to support all museums to become carbon literate and take steps to cut their carbon footprint. Understand how the history of migration stories in Britain, and Yorkshire and the Humber, have influenced the ethnic make-up of Britain and our region, and how working with diverse communities through ethnically equitable practice increases your museum’s relevance, and how to do this.
This session will support you if you are seeking to understand, or advocate for, why and how your museum could apply ethnically equitable practice to broaden its relevance.
National Lottery Heritage Fund: Helping You Apply – Grants for £3,000 – £10,000 (North)
This informal 2 hour session will explore:
how heritage can be used to transform places and change lives;
what a well-planned project looks like and;
how to write a strong funding application to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

A bitesize online session, exploring the management and documentation involved in the acquisition of objects, using Spectrum 5.0 procedures as a framework.
