A Successful South Yorkshire Museum Forum!
It was a pleasure to catch up with our colleagues at the South Yorkshire Museum Forum this week – what a great turn out! The forum was hosted by Clifton Park Museum, Rotherham, and provided a fitting backdrop for the event. A nicely packed agenda of informative and inspiring speakers sparked plenty of curiosity and discussion within the group.
We would like to share a big thank you to our speakers from South Yorkshire Transport Museum, Danum, National Videogame Museum, Sheffield Museums and of course Clifton Park Museum for sharing your wonderful work, with a focus on ‘Engaging with Children and Young People’. We are grateful to have received a guided tour of temporary exhibition ‘Dishes of Rotherham’ which showcases the heritage of Rotherham’s cooking cultures and the historic Rockingham pottery – a real treat!
The success of the South Yorkshire Museum Forum highlights the importance of events like these in knowledge-sharing and to promote both the successes and challenges within the museum sector.
We are already excited for the next South Yorkshire Forum, at South Yorkshire Transport Museum on 30th October. We recommend booking your tickets in advance here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/south-yorkshire-museum-forum-tickets-623679982617
